A  PERSONAL  NOTE

I first became interested in Benny Hester through my love for the TV show Roundhouse , for which he was a producer and a songwriter. One of my friends sent me his album Perfect several years ago (1998) and I became addicted to his music. Since then, I've had the unbelievable luck of acquiring every one of his albums.

He is an extremely versatile musician and one of my favorite songwriters. His songs range from rock to upbeat pop to slow ballads. I once read online, "Benny Hester was the 'Richard Marx' of his day... sensitive, ballad-oriented rock, with lyrics that were direct & inspiring. If you missed him, here's your chance to pick up on this great artist. If you know him, you know what I mean. . . " I couldn't agree more. His songs have made me look at my life from a new perspective and re-examine my faith. Benny's music has contributed to my ever growing interest in contemporary Christian music, as well as strengthened my relationship with God.

There is not much information about him on the internet. Sadly, most of his albums are now out of print and are hard to find. I know how frustrating it is to want to learn more about a certain musician and not be able to find it. Since I've had the privilege of learning about his music, I would like to share it with anyone who's interested.

• Benny's production company, Rebel Entertainment, is working on a a couple new pilot TV shows. Thanks to Hester Music for the info. 

• Last year, Rebel Ent. was working on a pilot for a new network brought to us by the 'E Channel'. In December 2000, Rebel Ent. also debuted a show Mr. Chi Chi's Guide to the Universe (originally called Ebb and Flo of the Universe) on the Discovery Channel. It ran as interstitials but, unfortunately, never became its own series.
