Classic 80s/90s TV Shows on Video

For years many of us have longed for video releases of classic Nickelodeon shows. There are several official releases on VHS and DVD. In addition to these official releases are DVD-Rs of old TV shows that individuals have recorded themselves from old VHS tapes of shows that they taped off of television themselves.

Here is my spiel about DVD-Rs. Below I provide links for both kinds of resources (official and burned DVDs), but would strongly encourage you to buy official releases of DVDs if they exist. Many of us have petitioned for studio releases of certain shows on DVDs. For this reason, I believe that you should buy official copies to show the studios how much we love these shows. If we buy these official DVDs (e.g. the first seasons of Clarissa Explains It All and the Adventures of Pete and Pete ), then hopefully Nickelodeon and other studios will take more of these old shows out of the vault and present them to us in nicely packaged DVDs with bonus footage. However, if there are no official releases for certain TV shows, then I see no problem with buying DVD-Rs if an individual copied the episodes themselves directly from TV.
